This 15-room boutique hotel in the centre of the fashion-focused Shibuya neighbourhood offers an authentic ‘made in Japan’ experience. Upcycled materials combine with flawless craftsmanship and contemporary artwork to create a soothing, chic vibe. Accommodation ranges from the twin-bed and double-bunk-bed 45m2 Balcony Junior Suite to the 140m2 Terrace Suite, which boasts a 70m2 terrace. The Trunk Kitchen serves Japanese–Western fusion cuisine, or get a fix of ‘Shibuya soul food’ at the Trunk Kushi stand, as well as Hojicha green tea, sake, shochu and signature cocktails. There’s a lifestyle store offering Tokyo-made keepsakes, while owner Yoshitaka Nojiri, who created the pioneering Take and Give Needs wedding business, has added a wood-and-glass chapel on the rooftop.
