Thailand does not have an Imperial or Metric system.

The metric system is better than imperial so therefore it makes sense to complete the conversion to metric as soon as possible. The metric system is a consistent and coherent system of units. In other words, it fits together very well and calculations are easy because it is decimal.

A unit is an internationally accepted standard for measurements of quantities. Measurement consists of a numeric quantity along with a relevant unit. Units for Fundamental or base quantities (like length, time etc.) are called Fundamental units.
